In the BLE-mote IOT Board JITX Recipe, we can optimize for different parameters - like size and cost, simply by changing a single line of code. If we specify "cost", then JITX will try to find the cheapest components to fulfill our design. If we specify "area", JITX will choose the smallest components, and the lowest part count as possible. This is made possible, in part, by the parts-database and parametric part search that lets designers create components based on parameters, without the need to specify the exact MPN.
